Sehwag Creates World Record: Scores Highest Runs in ODI History

Virender Sehwag became only the second batsman in ODI history to complete 200 runs while also becoming the highest run-getter in ODI history.
The first batsman was Sachin Tendulkar who created the world record of being the only batsman to score 200 runs in the history of One Day International cricket. Sehwag surpassed Sachin's high score of 200 which made him the new record-holder of the highest runs in ODI cricket.
While Sahin completed 200 runs with 25 fours and 3 sixes, Sehwag made a score of 219 with 25 fours and 7 sixes. He also scored an average strike rate of 146.97% The West Indian team looked clueless with regard to handling Sehwag's fiery batting.
He completed his 200th run in style smashing a boundary off AD Russell's ball. However, it was Pollard who got him caught by A. Martin for 219 runs.
Virender Sehwag has once again proved that he is a phenomenal player who has the ability to carry the entire team on his strong shoulders when time beckons it from him. Though the record will be a tough one to beat, we hope and pray that it is another Indian cricketer who breaks the record.
